Getting choked out will put things into perspective!

Several weeks ago I got some pretty bad news. Not only that but I was told there was no way to fix the problem while at the same time being encouraged to spend money exploring it by the same party that told me there was no way to fix it! This hit me pretty hard and my immediate reaction was to go home and lay in bed feeling bad for myself. Luckily for me, that day I had training at OMG MMA and felt guilty enough about having missed a couple of classes to drag myself in.
I think it was pretty evident by the expression on my face that I was in a bad way so I just wanted to get through the session with minimal interaction or conversation. Fortunately the environment is infectious enough that I couldn’t help smiling to myself every time we ran by Rome during warm-ups and hear him make a joke. My distress must have showed because he diligently inquired what was wrong throughout the class and took time to roll with me and get my spirits up. Between doing the sport I love and at the same time getting the chance to hang out with some great training partners I pretty much forgot what I was upset about by the time class was over.
In the end I was able to assess the situation with a clear head and come up with a solution rather than just get depressed and feel bad for myself. Moral of the story: when something bad happens to you go to training. Getting choked out will put things into perspective!

Organic food for Super Athletes

Every since the beginning of the year, I have been buy strictly organic food, and for the past 2 months I have cut ALL processed sugars out of my diet. I have been eating clean as a lifestyle for about 6 years now but never thought that eating ORGANIC would benefit me in the ways that it has.
3 major changes I have made to my diet since the new year:

1. Cut out all processed sugars. I eat dried/fresh fruits and berries for snack. I totally cut out all pastries and I dont crave them anymore. I make sure all my fruits and berries are organic and contain no sulfurs or added sugars.

2. I drink at least 100 oz of water a day.

3. I limit chicken/fish to 1x per day and red meat to 1x per 1 week.

The benefits that I experienced from these changes have been dramatic

* Lighter and full of energy at all times.
* Less moody
* No skin breakouts(acne, pimples)
* Stronger Immune system
* Less headaches/migraines
* More focus
* More muscle
* Better conditioning
* Better bowel movements due to more fiber

If you want to experience these benefits then make these small changes and enjoy your life a little bit more!

Grinding

OMG or On My Grind is what my gym is called… People ask me why?

Well its because being good at anything takes some hard work… But I don’t want to be ‘good’ at anything, and I don’t want my students to be ‘good’ at anything. I want them to be amazing at this stuff..

I pour my heart and soul into teaching and training everyday that I am on the mats. I truly love what I do, and I love to see people improve…

What breaks my heart is when people start looking for excuses to not come in and then when they finally do they ask me how to get good at it… The secret to training is… that there is no secret, its all consistency and hard work…

Work hard, and come in everyday and you will reap the benefits at being amazing at something. Something you can be proud of because YOU with your hard work achieved it. When I first started training I used to train EVERYDAY. Keep in mind my gym was over an hour away on the train there and then an hour back.  I remember for the first two years, no snowstorm, heatwave, or rain storm could stop me from getting to training.

Guys lets grind hard and make your lives extraordinary!
